Counselor and FRYSC Appreciation Week at FCHS!

Since we were not in school last week during Counselor Appreciation Week, we are honored to celebrate our counselors this week instead. We want to recognize the incredible work of Ashley Fritz, Brad Cox and Cara Perry. We are also celebrating our amazing FRYSC Coordinator, Sarah Arrasmith, throughout the week as it is FRYSC Appreciation Week as well!

Each of you go above and beyond every day to support our students, families, and staff. You are trusted listeners, advocates, problem-solvers, and steady sources of encouragement, often in moments that matter most. Our school is a better place because of your hearts, dedication, and unwavering commitment to putting students first. Thank you for all you do and for the difference you make in so many lives.

We are excited to begin sharing a weekly update highlighting what’s happening in and out of our school, along with important upcoming dates. Our students have chosen the name “Panther Playbook” for these weekly updates, and we love the voice and ownership behind it.

Due to expected winter weather arriving tomorrow, Fleming County Schools will be closed on Friday, February 6, 2026. This will be a traditional snow day that will be made up later in the school year. Thank you for your understanding as we prioritize the safety of everyone in our school community.

🐾 Panthers of Distinction 🐾 Tonight we proudly recognized Fleming County High School students who scored Proficient or Distinguished on the Spring 2025 KSA or earned a qualifying benchmark on the Spring 2025 Junior ACT. 200 Juniors & Seniors met this amazing accomplishment!

Panther Airlines ✈️ — Day 2! Day 2 of Panther Airlines brought another round of impressive student presentations! Our Panthers are doing an amazing job showcasing their research, knowledge, and confidence as they explore cultures around the world. 🌎✨ Huge shoutout to our Culinary Department for providing more delicious international snacks to enhance the experience! Presentations continue tomorrow.

Panther Airlines officially took off today! ✈️ Our 9th grade students began presenting their international research projects, showcasing history, culture, geography, and traditions from around the world. A huge thank-you to our amazing culinary department for preparing cultural snacks to give students an authentic taste of each destination. Presentations will continue throughout the week, and we are already so proud of the effort, confidence, and enthusiasm our Panthers are showing!

Our cafeteria team knocked it out of the park today! We truly have the BEST Cafeteria Staff in the state, hands down. Their meals are always incredible, but today’s Thanksgiving Feast was on a whole different level. From the green-iced donuts this morning to the green sprinkles at lunch, they went all-in to help us celebrate being a GREEN school on KSA! Thank you to our amazing team for taking such pride in serving our students. FCHS appreciates you more than you know!

💚 What a Day at FCHS! 💚 Our staff showed up bright and early wearing green and welcoming students into the building to kick off a huge celebration for our Panthers! Fleming County High School is officially a GREEN School! Based on our Spring KSA results, FCHS has reached Green status for the first time since the new accountability system began. This reflects the hard work, growth, and commitment of our students, staff, and families. FCHS picture retakes are tomorrow. There will be a setup for grades 9-11 and a setup for seniors. Seniors, please have your picture taken tomorrow if you missed the first date. This will be the LAST chance to take senior pictures.

Today, Fleming County High School proudly honored the brave men and women who have served our country. We are deeply grateful for their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting our freedoms. Thank you to all who joined us for today’s program and especially to the veterans in attendance. Your service will never be forgotten.

Friday, Colonel Jaimie Henson, KY CAP Wing commander, visited FCHS. During the visit, she and key members of her staff spent time with the cadets, presenting each cadet with a commander's challenge coin. She also presented coins to Capt Litteral, Mr. Hart, and Mrs. Barker. During the pep rally, Col Henson presented FCHS with the official charter from CAP National Headquarters, signifying the creation of the KY802nd Squadron as The FCHS Covered Bridge Cadet Squadron. During the pep rally, Principal Hart presented a US flag that was flown over FCHS on graduation day for 20 minutes and 25 seconds to signify the Class of 2025 to thank Cheap Chevrolet for their unwavering support of FCHS.
