Our AP Human Geo students put their teamwork skills to the test by piecing together a giant world map! They relied on their prior knowledge and, more importantly, on one another to complete the challenge. The conversations were incredible, the collaboration was inspiring, and every single student was engaged.
Our Juniors took inspiration from America’s great inventors this week, studying Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, and the Wright Brothers. On Thursday, they put their creativity to the test by designing inventions of their own using only materials and imagination.
On Friday, students proudly presented their prototypes, showcasing innovation, problem-solving, and collaboration. We’re so proud of their hard work and big ideas!

Our 9th grade science students engaged in a hands-on laboratory activity, working collaboratively in groups to explore chemical reactions through the creation of slime. This engaging experience fostered both scientific inquiry and teamwork.
Today in Reading class with Mrs. Trent, students took on a lesson with a twist (or should we say… a flip 😉). We’ve all seen teenagers flipping water bottles, and today it became more than just a trend. Mrs. Trent challenged students to notice how a tiny adjustment like a little less water, a steadier hand, or a softer toss could mean the difference between failure and success. Just like in reading (and in life!), sometimes it’s not about making huge leaps forward, but about finding the small, smart changes that add up to big wins. Students learned: 🔹 Success often comes after practice. 🔹 Small adjustments can make all the difference. 🔹 Persistence + patience = progress. And yes… there were some pretty epic flips, too! 🎉🙌

Today we kicked off the 2025–2026 school year with energy, excitement, and Panther pride! From our cheerleaders welcoming students at the doors to an amazing pep rally that set the tone for the year, it’s clear this is going to be one of our best years yet.

Senior Sunrise marked the beginning of their final year at FCHS—some even camped out overnight, ready to greet the day together. Our traffic pattern will remain the same as it was at the end of last school year. Please refer to the map below for how traffic will enter and exit during morning drop-off.
✅ The afternoon exit strategy is still in place as well:
All vehicles other than buses will exit through the lower softball exit at the end of the school day.

Yesterday, Fleming County High School staff participated in a professional development session focused on collaboration and BRIDGE Performance Assessments.
This year, our goal is to bring learning to life through real-world scenarios and interdisciplinary collaboration across all grade levels and subjects.

📱 Cell Phone Policy Reminder 📱
Fleming County High School will continue with the same cell phone policy as last year.
✅ All students are required to place their cell phones in the cell phone caddy at the beginning of each class.
✅ Phones must remain in the caddy for the duration of instructional time.
✅ This includes the use of cell phones in the hallway during instructional time.
✅ This policy is in line with Kentucky House Bill 208 (2025), which requires schools to prohibit student use of personal devices during instructional time.
